Verona Porta Nuova is a rail hub where the Milan–Venice line meets the Brenner line: Frecciarossa, Italo, international and regional trains all call here. If you are heading on to the Dolomites, a private transfer saves further changes: your driver waits at the agreed point in the station and drives you to Cortina d'Ampezzo.
We have three separate Verona pages: this one is for travellers arriving by train at Porta Nuova. If you are leaving from a hotel or an address in the city, see Verona city – Cortina (in Italian); if you land at Villafranca, see Verona Airport – Cortina.
Choosing the right starting point helps with timing: for a train, just give its number and arrival time and the pickup is planned around it.
Verona Porta Nuova and Cortina d'Ampezzo are about 235–250 km apart by road, depending on the route, roughly 3–3.5 hours' drive. Traffic, weather and season can lengthen the journey: it is a long drive, so stops are arranged to suit you.
To travel back to Verona, swap departure and destination in the form and give your train time: we will propose a departure from Cortina with a sensible margin. The service runs 24 hours a day by reservation; any night surcharge, where applicable, is shown in the quote before you confirm.
