Option 1: Private transfer from Venice Airport to Cortina

The distance is in the order of 160 km by road, depending on your exact starting point and on the route you take. Any journey time you read is indicative only: traffic, weather, road conditions and winter conditions on the mountain section all affect it, and peak weekends in the Dolomites can be slow.

Option 4: Train and onward connection

Cortina d'Ampezzo does not have a railway station in the town. Rail therefore never covers the whole journey: it can only take you as far as a station in the wider area, from which the last leg is completed by road.

In practice this usually means travelling from the airport to a rail hub such as Venice Mestre, then continuing towards the Dolomites — Calalzo di Cadore is one of the stations commonly used to continue towards Cortina — and covering the final section by bus, taxi or private car.

Because this route involves several separate services, connections are not guaranteed to line up. Verify each leg on the relevant operator's official website, and allow a margin between arrival and onward departure.
